A Couple Videos

These two videos were only taken one day apart.

The first one is an ultrasound from the day before Brandon was born:



This one was taken less than 24 hours later and just 20 minutes after he was born:



Look how super alert and calm he is... too bad he's not like that all the time..

So there have been a couple of doctor's visits since the last one I wrote about so I will give you a brief summary of each.

March 10th, 2008 - No ultrasound and it would have been a pretty fast visit except that she was worried I might have had an infection again. She had me go to the lab to give them my sample and then she had me come back to do another test in the office. I felt like I had to wait double because she wanted to wait for tests and etc. My initial test showed that my white blood count was low again, but the final culture showed that there might have been a contaminate in my sample too that affected my results. Phew - really didn't want to take antibiotic again.

Today, March 19th, 2008 - Saw the OB doctor again instead of my normal doctor. She confirmed that I had normal/negative results for a Group 6 Strep test I took last week that would have been bad for the baby. Yay. Took some ultrasound photos too but not as good as when Ray takes them.

Hard to see but he is looking at us in the photo. One eye is the darker circle within the whiter area in the top middle, then the nose is the white area below that, and the other eye is the dark area below that. It is like he is lying down in the photo to the right so if you tilt your head to the right he would be "right side up."

Thought this photo was interesting because the dark horizontal oval in the top middle is the baby's stomach. It is that large because the doctor said we caught him taking in fluids. His stomach will start to expel them later and flatten out. Hehe he was probably having lunch when we did the ultrasound.

24 weeks Ultrasound

Here is the baby's ultrasound from 24 weeks. You can see his beating heart and his cute little legs bunched up.

Week 19 Ultrasound Video

The week 19 ultrasound video is now up!

I've spliced together three videos. The first one shows the baby's heart beating. In the second one, the baby is showing off that he is a boy. And in the last one he is looking up at us and waving and saying, "Hello world!"

Ultrasound at 16 weeks

The video didn't record that well, but you can still make out the little arms of the baby. I think the baby will like to sleep like I do (with arms over my head).

Sorry for the secrecy

So, now that the cat is out of the bag (baby out of the amniotic sac?), I guess I have to apologize for all the secrecy the last couple months. We just didn't want to say anything until we were sure everything was going to be OK. I'm sure you all understand.

Anyway, here's the video from our ultrasound. Look closely and you can see the tiny heart beating. Yes, I know s/he looks kind of fuzzy, but give it another 7 months and s/he'll turn into the cutest baby ever! Enjoy!
