Brandon's first beach day!!!

Brandon had his first beach day today and it went well overall. He was a little cranky in the beginning because 1.) he was hungry 2.) it was windy 3.) he had no idea where we were and why it was so bright. Brandon was better after Ray managed to feed him most of his bottle (he prefers mommy's breast). Then he was able to take some of the sights in and enjoy the sun under his new hat. :)
Maybe we will wait to take him to the beach when he can kind of sit on his own next time. Also, we should definitely get a big umbrella/canopy for all of us to sit under. In any case I think he had a fairly good time on our short excursion.

Brandon's Banquet

Even though Brandon is only 7 weeks old, he already had his first fancy Chinese banquet a couple weeks ago (I know, I know I am super late in posting this). We ended up having it close-by at Full House in Arcadia. It is the place that we usually have Dim Sum - yum.

Family members from all sides came to celebrate Brandon's one month birthday, and he ended up getting a lot of wonderful gifts. Thank you to everyone for being so generous and giving so much love to our little boy. He is truly lucky!

It is too bad that he slept through the entire event. Haha that is Brandon for you. If only he would sleep through the night as well........sigh. Tired Mommy signing off :)

Desperate Baby Shower

Brandon was lucky enough to get another baby shower on Saturday thrown by Judy (George's wife; pictured with Brandon) and assisted by the lovely Joslyn & Dana. He is one spoiled baby to be loved by so many. So happy that so many of my DH peeps could go even though it is the end of the season ( those pesky reshoots on Tuesday not withstanding ). Thanks to everyone for the great gifts (Brandon is going to be a VERY well dressed child), fun games, and most importantly, fantastic company.

So as many of you avid DH blog readers may have figured out (but maybe were too polite to point out Sat), I was on crack and told Joslyn that I was in labor for 6 hours for a game. As my previous blogs will attest to...it was more like 10 hours if not more. This is what lack of sleep will do to you - make you unable to do math/count. Sorry about that.

Happy Mommy's Day to Me!

Happy One Month Birthday!

Today is Brandon's one month birthday. The one month birthday is a very important date in Chinese tradition since a lot of babies didn't make it that long back in the old days. Babies weren't even named until the one month birthday.

Anyway, Brandon is doing great. We weighed him today and he is already up to 9 lbs. That isn't as much as some babies when they are born, but I think that's pretty good for someone who was 6.5 lbs at birth. Plus, we had ice cream cake tonight for his birthday too, so hopefully that will add a bit extra weight when mommy passes it on. :)

Back to work

So this was my first week back at work and away from Brandon. It is kind of weird to be away from him after pretty much being with him 24 hours a day for over three weeks. I do miss him a lot during the day and I have to look at a picture of him every hour or two to get my Brandon fix. And when I get home, I snatch him up and carry him around for the next couple hours until I have to go to bed. Sometimes if I'm too tired to carry him I'll lie down and put him on my chest to sleep. Doing that helps him calm down too- I think he likes the rhythm of breathing and hearing the beat of the heart. Either way, it's enjoyable for the both of us. :)
