Week 19 Ultrasound Video

The week 19 ultrasound video is now up!

I've spliced together three videos. The first one shows the baby's heart beating. In the second one, the baby is showing off that he is a boy. And in the last one he is looking up at us and waving and saying, "Hello world!"

Shhh...he's watching!

Hi Everyone!

Went to another doctor's appointment and got to see the baby again on the little monitor. The doctor asked if we wanted to do an ultra sound or just listen to the fetal heart monitor and I looked at Ray and said "I think he is here to see the baby."

She let us look at him for a long time and said that it is definitely a boy :) I guess he likes to show his little parts off. Here is a picture of the baby looking at us.

His head is tilted on the left side and you can see his two eyes peering at us. Ray thinks it makes him look like an alien. Those are his little fingers near his chin in the middle of the photo and his legs are all scrunched up on the right.

Ray took a lot of video during this visit so we will post that up as soon as we figure out which one is best. Unfortunately it has that analog bar going through it again, but it is still very cool to see.

Possible Chinese name

So over the long weekend, my parents came up with a few Chinese names for the baby. Right now the leading contender is this:

The first word is our last name: Cheung. The second means household or home and the last means bright or outstanding. In Cantonese, it is pronounced roughly ga-wing, but we may just use Gawain as the English spelling. Would you be able to tell that he is the son of an English major with that name? ;-)

Hi everyone :)

Got another ultrasound today and this time it was a long one. It was about half an hour long and the technician checked all of the little baby's organs. Everything is looking good and the baby was so cute. It is getting really big and chubby looking for something that is about 6 inches long. I will post a picture as soon as I get a good scan of it.

We also found out the sex of the baby :) It was confusing at first because she kept pointing at the ultrasound and saying "there is the sex." Ray told me later that he was thinking "...what sex?" I guess you are waiting for me to tell you all what we are having. Those who don't want to know - please look away. It's a boy :) You can jump up and down now.
