Ultrasound at 16 weeks

The video didn't record that well, but you can still make out the little arms of the baby. I think the baby will like to sleep like I do (with arms over my head).

People at Work Finally Know!

So I finally got around to telling people at work that I am pregnant. I was using the 3 months rule as an excuse for not telling them, but honestly I just didn't know how to go about it with so many people there. Mass email? Declaration in a loud voice after getting sick? Wasn't sure what to do. My boss and I finally just decided to do something silly. This is what happened:

Boss: So Val, are you feeling ok?
Me: Eh I am ok I guess
Boss: Ok cause you haven't been looking that well and you are getting a little chunky.

Co-workers all gasp and look at him like he has gone insane. "George!""You are kidding right George?" "Wow George I can't believe you said that!" The looks on their faces were PRICELESS.

Me: [Shaking my head] Well that is what happens when you are over 3 months pregnant.

Chaos ensues and all the ladies in the office get up and hug me and congratulate me. They say that they had no idea and that I didn't look 3 months. That makes me feel better since I feel gross and fat already sometimes. More people come into the room and I wonder how they could hear from their desks. Then even more people walk by and wonder what is going on - they in turn congratulate me. The cycle continues for most of the day along with people looking at me with that "awww" look and lots of smiles. Kind of funny and uncomfortable at the same time.

My boss told everyone that he couldn't believe that they didn't know because I would sit on his couch for hours on end whenever I didn't feel good, and I pointed out the fact that I was alway coughing and almost throwing up. They just figured I was tired and sick.

Anyways, it is kind of a relief now that people know and I don't have to secretively talk to my mom on the phone in Chinese or go outside to call the doctor or talk to Liz about stuff. Good thing too since it is getting cooler outside. Don't want the baby getting cold!

Guess the Gender!

Ok, it's time for a new poll. We're going to play guess the baby's gender! Seems like everyone already thinks its one of the other, we may as well see if they are right. For the record, we are not going to wait until the baby is born to find out if it's a boy or a girl. How else are we supposed to do all the shopping if we don't know whether to get baby blue or pink?

Anyway, the poll is posted on the right side like the last one. Have at it!

(Leave your guess in the comments too if you are confident that you'll be right)

Do you think the baby will be a boy or a girl?
Boy
Girl
