Our baby has a strong heart!

We went to our monthly doctor's visit yesterday. It was a pretty fast visit but we did get to hear the little baby's heartbeat. It was 115 beats/minute! The whooshing noise was soooo fast and the doctor said that the baby sounded very healthy. Made me feel like a happy mommy and that all the sickness I have been feeling worth it. Of course it also turned out that I have a fever which explains why I have been feeling worse than usual. It is a pretty mild fever so hopefully it will subside soon. I also can't wait till my "morning sickness" goes away. It should get better in the next couple of weeks - I hope I am not one of those women that have sickness a lot longer than usual. One of my co-workers said that her mom was sick the whole time she was pregnant and that when she went into labor, she didn't realize it because she thought she was just having sickness. WOW - probably not the best story to tell a pregnant lady, but I think chances are I won't have it that bad. Hmmmm did I just jinx myself?

Due date = Space Shuttle launch anniversary

I just realized that the due date for the baby is the same day as the anniversary for the 1st launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia. April 12th, 1981. Kinda neat, huh?

Yes, I'm a space geek. :-)

Impulse Buy

Hi everyone - had my first baby impulse buy the other day at the store. They were having a baby sale at Old Navy and I went to just peruse and saw this cute one piece that I had seen in the store before on clearance.

Suffice to say, I HAD to get it. It is sooooo cute :) I love the idea of our little baby wearing something that says Rascal on it. I think Ray likes it too cause we both keep looking at it and smiling. My mom told me that she thought it was boy specific but I think that a cute baby girl can pull it off too. Either way our baby is wearing it!

Poll now posted!

I just figured out how to add polls and the first one is now up! Look down on the right sidebar and you'll see it. Right now we've got up "When do you think the baby will be born?" Go ahead and pick a week and we'll see what the majority thinks. You can also post your guess (exact date!) in the comments section here for posterity. Remember, the expected due date is April 12th. We'll come back ~7 months from now and see who guessed the closest. Person who wins gets their picture with the new baby posted here!

When do you think the baby will be born?
March 16 - 22
March 23 - 29
March 30 - April 5
April 6 - 12
April 13 - 19
April 20 - 26
April 27 - May 3

Hi everyone

Welcome to any newcomers to the blog.
No real updates since the last couple of blogs so for those who missed it - keep scrolling down! Still feeling icky and stuff. Went to Newport today to scout boats and although the boat was awesome, the ride back and forth was not for the baby and me. Quite rocky actually.
Finally told the boss yesterday about my condition and he was excited and happy for us. I told him that now he can get his wish of me getting fat (so that I don't complain that I am cold all the time).
I will write more as more exciting life events happen. Stay tuned!
