Sorry for the secrecy

So, now that the cat is out of the bag (baby out of the amniotic sac?), I guess I have to apologize for all the secrecy the last couple months. We just didn't want to say anything until we were sure everything was going to be OK. I'm sure you all understand.

Anyway, here's the video from our ultrasound. Look closely and you can see the tiny heart beating. Yes, I know s/he looks kind of fuzzy, but give it another 7 months and s/he'll turn into the cutest baby ever! Enjoy!

(BTW, my boys can swim!)

BOOOOO

So after a couple of weeks of feeling nauseous and gross, I finally threw up tonight. Fun times. I was hoping that I could prevent it but my body was sick of holding back - exhausted really. Fair warning to all of you if you see me looking glossy-eyed and unhappy. The worse part is that I am hungry now. I guess the cycle is get hungry, eat, feel sick, get hungry, eat, feel sick.......

Ray asked if I wasn't going to want to have babies anymore after this since I felt so bad. I am sure the end result is all worth it though :)

The New Parents

Hi Everybody!
If you are reading this that means that we have finally decided to tell everyone about the little one growing inside me. I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you and hope that you will enjoy reading in our blog as well. Perhaps my pregnancy will explain all my tiredness and odd eating habits of late to you all. Some of you may even be saying "I knew it!" (no you didn't). In any case Ray & I are pregnant with our first child so cut him some slack these upcoming months cause he will have to put up with me.
Ok now let's just jump into it!

Went to our first prenatal exam today. We were both nervous and excited at the same time. I keep wondering if the people at the doctor's office think we are teenage parents or something since we look so young. When I first took my pregnancy exam at the nurse's center a couple weeks ago, the nurse looked very nervous to tell me that I was pregnant. Like I was going to cry and scream "No! my parents are going to kill me!" She was happily surprised when that was not my reaction. Anyways I digress.

The exam today was good and we will have to go back every 4 weeks for check-ups. (I guess I should that I have to go back - Ray doesn't HAVE to.) The doctor kept asking if we had any questions and I was too nervous to really ask anything. Also, the little booklet I got a couple weeks ago answers a lot of the questions that I had anyways. The highlight of the visit was definitely when we did our first ultrasound.

Our baby is the little white thing in the black circle to the left. Currently a huge 11.9 millimeters :) According to the doctor, it means that we are at approximately 7 weeks and 4 days putting the approximate due date on April 12th, 2008. Mark your calendars for April everyone!
